Summer Thomad is a writer, editor, and journalist born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. She is currently a news assistant for NPR’s All Things Considered, and the assistant editor for The Believer. She recently interned for NPR’s Code Switch, and serves as the communications coordinator for the Black Mountain Institute. Summer holds a degree in Journalism and Media Studies with a minor in Sociology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Her work has appeared in NPR, The Believer, Desert Companion, and the UNLV Scarlet and Gray Free Press, where she served as the Arts, Entertainment and Culture editor. In her spare time, she is trying out new recipes and thinking about Kermit the Frog.
