Mauricio Ortiz Zaragoza

Mauricio Ortiz Zaragoza is a writer and scholar based in Las Vegas, the place he has called home for 20 years after immigrating from Querétaro City, Mexico. He has completed his bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Film from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He is currently finishing up a graduate certificate in Social Justice Studies at UNLV while helping run the family business. His research interests include critical theory, film, video games, and gender and sexuality. He enjoys spending an inordinate amount of his income on vinyl records and CriterionCollection releases. He also shoots film photography.
