Judy Polumbaum
Judy Polumbaum is a journalist, scholar and educator with a long and varied publication record. As a newspaper reporter and magazine writer, she covered stories from Vermont to Oregon, and from Des Moines to Beijing. A University of Iowa professor emerita of journalism and mass communication, she was the first Western researcher to do fieldwork on media in China during the post-Mao years. She grew up in New England, spent many years in China and California, raised two sons in the Midwest, and relocated to the Southwest in 2018. Her books include
